1. Murad Clarifying Cleanser
I haven't previously used Murad products but tried this acne clearing based cleanser on a whim after seeing a commercial. I am happy to report a great result after using it for about a month but saw improvement within 8 hours of using it for the first time. I know these products are extremely popular and looks like for good reason. However I will add that I don't necessarily have "problem skin" just the occasional bothersome break out. I have heard from someone who has sever acne that this particular line wasn't effective for her. These products can be found at any Sephora retailer.
Salicylic Acid is the active ingredient and is time released hours upon application so the medication keeps working.
Silver Citrate, black cohosh and green tea extract are amoung other main active ingriedients.
2. Freeman Clay Mask avocado & oatmeal
This product is so creamy and smells amazing. It has been my favorite moisturizing, blemish clearing mask for a couple months. It is your basic apply, let dry and rinse facial mask and I have found it to be very effective for clearing little problem areas on my slightly oily skin, especially if used continually. My favorite part, it smells amazing! :) You can find this product at Ulta Retailers.
3.Theorie argon oil ultimate repair hair mask
I have coarse extremely curly black girl hair so I need a heavy duty conditioning system to lock in any moisture at all. This thick and creamy formula does just the trick. It has small beads that break open upon lathering that release even more moisturizing heaven. I COULD BATHE IN THIS IT SMELLS SO DELIGHTFUL! This product is a little more tricky to locate as it is sold at individual salon discretion, however it is available on their website www.yourtheorie.com
4. Peter Thomas Roth acne clearing gel
Oh man am I happy I discovered this product. PTR products are a little bit more expensive, even by Sephora standards, but I have found them to be worth the extra buck. This particular favorite can be used up to 3 times a day for those days that you really have a skin emergency! It is also compatible with most foundations and powders so there's no sweat putting it on before you morning make up routine. Needless to say this product has come to my rescue many a date night and special occasion and I LOVE IT! It can be found at any Sephora retailer.
5. Witch Hazel organic
This astringent is produced is derived from the structure of the North American Witch Hazel Shrub and is was widely utilized by Native Americans for its medicinal purposes. There are a wise variety of uses for this derivative. I use it especially or spot and blemish control, it aids in reducing the inflammation of a blemish and beginning the healing process. I apply it every night as a preventative measure as it's said to reduce acne breakouts. It is also said to be useful in reducing under eye bags and healing bruises. You can find witch hazel at most drug stores in astringent form, it is also available in other forms such as essential oils.
6. Coconut Oil unrefined organic
There are about a million uses for coconut oil but I use it most in my beauty routine. I have found it to be beneficial while " oil pulling " a routine in which you swish about a teaspoon of your choice of
Oil in your mouth for about 20 minutes. This process is said to whiten teath, pull excess toxins out of your mouth and gums, as well as reduce acne. Make sure you use "refined" coconut oil o et the most benefit, I also prefer the organic variety :). I also like to heat coconut oil to liquid form and use it on my hair and skin. Coconut oil is available at most grocery stores and health food stores.
7. Pre de Provence verbena hand creme
I bought this hand creme for my boyfriend last winter in an effort to heal his dry cracked hands and I am not sorry to say I have used a good majority of the tube. 20% Shea butter gives this creamy potion it's healing properties. It is definitely not for those who are bothered by having a " film" of sorts left after rubbing in lotion. I have come to the conclusion that this is this products strength however, after a period of time it seems to soak right in, leaving your skin soft and supple. I have a very picky nose when it comes to scented anything but I find this verbena scent to be so fresh and heavenly. I purchased this at a Zandbroz, find it there as well as a variety of their other products !
